Nandu’s Paratha, Baner

Nandu’s Paratha in Baner is their third branch in Pune. The outlet does some amazing varieties of paratha and street style food. The cuisine is mostly Punjabi and Maharashtrian.

What I Had

Bhelpuri Paratha

This Nandu’s legendary Paratha is stuffed with an actual bhelpuri stuffing and is served with a khatta meetha dip. You feel like you are digging into chaat instantly when you have the first bite. I liked it paired with the khatta meetha chutney.

Pizza Paratha 

This fusion paratha with a typical Italian stuffing of cheese, onion, capsicum, pizza sauce was a little spicy but tasted really amazing with a right amount of butter on top of it.


Pahadi Paratha

This paratha was made with a methi dough and was stuffed with sprouts. This is a perfect choice for those who like to add the greens to their diet. Also, it is heathy with the sprout stuffing.


Paneer Achari Paratha

The stuffing of this paratha, as the name goes, is lime pickle and paneer. It had the right amount of bitter and hence a balanced taste.


Paneer Cheese Jalepeno Paratha in Olive Oil

So, Nandu’s Paratha offer their parathas in variants of oil, ghee, plain and in olive oil for the health conscious folks. You just have to mention your choice when you place the order. It is such a wonderful thing that you can enjoy this amazing meal and yet take a little bit of care of your health.

Pav Bhaji

The pav bhaji was a little bit sour for my liking. I loved the fact that the pav was wonderfully buttered and done on both the sides.

Mushroom Paneer Masala

This sabji offers the best of both worlds with paneer and mushroom in the same gravy. A rare but interesting combination. It is served as a combo with the parathas.


Samosa Bhurji Combo

The samosa bhurji was served with two Parathas. Honestly, I was apprehensive to try this one. Although it tasted good, it was difficult to settle with the fact that I was eating samosa with a paratha.

Baingan Bharta with Bhakri

This classic Maharashtrian combo did the best it could do. The Bharta was on the spicy side though for my palate.


Hot Masala Curd Rice 

This tasted like spicy khichadi kadi because of the curd in it. As the name suggests it was on the spicier side. The regular curd rice with tadka on the top is a different dish here altogether.

Matki Pithla Thecha Khichadi

This is a really tasty khichadi with matki, pithla in it. It is spicy because of the chilli thecha in it. An unusual but wonderful combination.

Cheese Cutlet Pulav

The cheese binds the entire dish together. The rice has pieces of corn cutlet in it. The flavor of the corn and cheese again goes well together.

Chocolate Paratha

For all those who are like me and like a bit of mild food, after having so many things spicy, this was a perfect way to end the meal. The paratha was served with a spoon full of chocolate which you can spread on top of the paratha, like you would spread butter. The filling of this paratha was obviously chocolate. The filling tasted like a nice light chocolate brownie. Since the brownie like filling gave it a slightly dry texture, the chocolate spread on top added to the moisture and the result was a really lip smacking chocolate paratha. Apart from the chocolate paratha, we also had the moong and gajar halwa which were equally delicious.


If you want to have some VFM, unique and delicious parathas and combos, visiting this place is a must.
