What I Had in Cafe 1730
We were here for a tasting and tried a lot stuff here.
Watermelon Basil Mojito
Lychee Rosso Martini
Spicy Guava Mocktail
Melon Crazy Mocktail
Melon Punch Mocktail
Cheese Chilli Toast
A spicy combination of cheese, chilli flakes, parsley generously smothered on bread slices and toasted to perfection.
Devils On Horseback
Prawns wrapped with bacon, cheese and celery. This was an interesting combination and tasted nice with the dip.
Dahi Kebab
Now, the taste of the dahi kebabs usually depends on the curd used. These kebabs were a bit sour on their own but got balanced with the slightly sweet tamarind chutney served with it.
Stuffed Mushrooms
Cheese, mushrooms, pimento combined with continental spices, rolled and deep fried and served with a cocktail dip.
Veg Lasagna
A medley of mixed vegetables sauteed together and cooked in tomato concasse and layered in between pasta sheets, topped with creamy bechamel and smothered with parmesan and mozzarella cheese, gratinated to a perfect golden brown. This one was a bit extra cheesy for my liking.
Veg Stuffed Canneloni
Canneloni stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese. One of my favorites here.
Fish Curry Rice
Kingfish or Basa cooked with blended spices and thick coconut milk and served with steaming hot rice. You have to specify the choice of fish when you place the order. It definitely had a Goan vibe to it but was a bit spicier from the curries I have had in Goa.
Chocolate Mousse
One of the silkiest mousse I have had. A must try.
Belgian Chocolate Cake(Dessert of the day from the in-house bakery.)
Ambience
The ambience here is more of an evening place kind. You can sit back and enjoy the music with a glass or two of your favorite drink. They have an indoor seating area as well an outdoor seating area.
All in all, Cafe 1730 is a good place with good food, service and music.
