Kathakali is a place where you can get authentic South Indian Cuisine. If the typical self service South Indian restaurants or eateries do not appeal to you but you still want to have an authentic South Indian meal, you must visit Kathakali. Kathakali has an indoor seating area and soon will have an outdoor seating area as well. Kathakali offers a lot of varieties of idli, dosa, uttapam, rice and beverages.
Location
What I Had
South Indian Papadam
Papad in the South Indian Style.
Mini Podi Idli
Idli sprinkled or tossed in the South Indian ground spices.
Mini Idli Chilli
Tasty but was a bit oily for my liking.
Mini Uttappam 3- Onion, Tomato, Veg
Liked this for the fact that you get to have different types of Uttappam in a plate itself.
Set Uttapam
Masala Uttapam
This is something which I had not tried. The potato stuffing in the uttapam with the regular toppings of the uttapam was an interesting combination.
Dosa Varieties
The masala dosa here is different because the masala is spread all over inside the dosa. The dosas are served with three different chutneys, all equally yummy. Sada Dosa and Paper Dosa was nice and crunchy and crispy.
Kerala Thali
The Kerala Thali includes Rassam, Papadam, Avial, Poori, Sambhar, Rice and Payesam. Most of the items in the Kerala Thali are obviously coconut based. Payesam is the dessert to end the meal.
Beverages
The shakes were good. Not too sweet or strong in flavor. Just the perfect taste for my liking.
Sitafal Milk Shake
Strawberry Milk Shake
Mango Milk Shake
Butter Milk
The thing that is different about the buttermilk here is that they have tried to add a mild hint of South Indian flavors to it.
Rava Keshri
Typically made from rice or semolina as the main ingredients, sugar, ghee and dry fruits. This was a good dessert.
Head over to Kathakali to have some authentic South Indian food in a non typical South Indian restaurant ambience.
